Class guide

Hunter: Marksmanship and Beast Mastery

Hunter spends focus. The independent database names the model Sylvanas, a single source. Marksmanship’s tools are Aimed Shot, Rapid Fire, Trueshot, Wailing Arrow and Explosive Shot. Beast Mastery’s are Kill Command, Barbed Shot, Bestial Wrath, Intimidation, Bloodshed and Roar of Sacrifice. Shared tools include Arcane Shot, Steady Shot, Concussive Shot, Counter Shot, Scatter Shot, Freezing Trap, Disengage, Aspect of the Turtle, Tar Trap, Aspect of the Cheetah, Feign Death and Exhilaration.

Version 0.21 sets Kill Command at 345 damage with an 8-second cooldown, and Spirit Mend at 500 over 6 seconds. Aimed Shot makes Auto Shot wait while it casts. Version 0.19 cuts pet damage by about five percent, without publishing a measured performance impact for either spec. Hotfix 0.18.1 sets Arcane Shot and Kill Command at 40 focus. Disengage is also the button the 0.15 notes say can leave the Blade’s Edge bridge.

A pet damage change is not a spec ranking; this guide does not turn unverified community remarks into evidence. No public source found as of 2026-10-30 for a marksmanship versus beast mastery win rate.

0.21.1: Auto Shot waits

Auto Shot now waits during Revive Pet, as it does for Aimed Shot. The general channel rule also pauses Auto Shots during Rapid Fire. These are patch notes, not an estimated damage increase or decrease.

Marksmanship

Marksmanship includes Aimed Shot, Rapid Fire and Trueshot. Auto Shot waits for Aimed Shot and, under the 0.21.1 general channel rule, during Rapid Fire.

Beast Mastery

Beast Mastery includes Kill Command, Barbed Shot and Bestial Wrath. The 0.21 note requires both Hunter and pet line of sight for Kill Command, Intimidation and Bloodshed; do not check only the player’s view.

These are single-source kit descriptions from the public client and its derived database, not ranked builds. For editorial role examples, see comp planning; for published changes, see patch notes.
