Class guide
Mage: Fire and Frost
Mage spends mana. The independent database names the model Jaina, a single source. Fire and Frost are the specs. Fire’s named tools are Pyroblast, Combustion, Living Bomb, Greater Invisibility and Phoenix Flames. Frost’s are Ice Lance, Deep Freeze, Icy Veins, Ray of Frost and Water Elemental (which replaces Ring of Frost in 0.21.1). Shared spells include Frostbolt, Fireball, Fire Blast, Polymorph, Frost Nova, Cone of Cold, Counterspell, Blink, Ice Block, Ice Barrier and Mana Shield.
Version 0.10 changes the Winter’s Chill talent: it lets Deep Freeze stun for the full four seconds without a frozen target, with a 45-second cooldown. Those figures are specific to that talent, not a general Deep Freeze baseline. Version 0.16 shortens the long casts: the listed mage spells move from 35 to 30 metres. The broader patch also changes some other classes’ 40-metre spells to 32. Ice Barrier, Mana Shield, Icy Veins and Combustion become dispellable magic. Version 0.21 makes Polymorph single-target in the same way as Fear, Cyclone and Sap. Recasting your Polymorph on a new target releases your previous sheep; this is not a team-wide ban on simultaneous control.
Xaryu’s 29 Oct 2026 video is about mage changes and also compares this game with Azeroth Survivors. I embed it as a creator’s read, not as a damage meter. Ramonrtj’s clip is a rogue-versus-mage first match. Neither video is a tier source. No public source found as of 2026-10-30 for a Fire versus Frost win rate.
0.21.1: Frost changes
The public client notes lower Frostbolt’s mana cost from 300 to 250, make Ice Lance leave roots intact, and let Icy Veins accelerate the global cooldown too. Water Elemental replaces Ring of Frost. If Ring of Frost was selected, the notes say the fifth talent resets to Icy Veins: select Water Elemental in Spells & Talents to use the summon. These are published patch changes, not damage-test results.
Fire
Fire’s named options include Pyroblast, Combustion and Living Bomb. This is a kit summary, not a claim that its burst beats Frost in a particular bracket.
Frost
Frost uses Ice Lance and Deep Freeze, with the Winter’s Chill timing caveat described above. For current public-client changes, read the Deep Winter section: Water Elemental has replaced Ring of Frost.
These are single-source kit descriptions from the public client and its derived database, not ranked builds. For editorial role examples, see comp planning; for published changes, see patch notes.
Questions
Which spec is the burst spec?
The database describes Fire as the burst line and Frost as the slowing line. That is a label, not a ranking.
Did mage range change?
Yes, in 0.16. The mage entries in 0.16 give 35 to 30 metres, not yards.
Can I sheep two targets?
Not with the same caster’s Polymorph: sheeping someone new releases your previous target.
