Class guide
Paladin: Holy and Retribution
Paladin spends mana. The independent database names the model Arthas, a single source. Holy’s tools are Holy Shock, Beacon of Light, Light of Dawn, Aura Mastery, Blessing of Sacrifice and Divine Favor. Retribution’s are Crusader Strike, Templar’s Verdict, Divine Storm, Avenging Wrath, Repentance, Divine Steed, Execution Sentence and Blinding Light. Shared tools: Judgment, Flash of Light, Hammer of Justice, Rebuke, Cleanse, Divine Shield, Blessing of Freedom, Holy Light, Hammer of Wrath, Lay on Hands and Blessing of Protection.
Version 0.16 lets Divine Shield be used during stun, fear or silence. Cyclone is excluded. Avenging Wrath and Divine Favor can be dispelled. Beacon of Light is listed at 32 metres. Version 0.21 sets Hammer of Wrath at 560 damage on an 8-second cooldown and Execution Sentence at 840. Repentance joins the single-target control rule in that same build. Holy is a healer, so the 0.16 and 0.21 queue splits apply when you queue Holy.
I will not tell you to play Holy with a warrior. That is a shape, not a measured comp. The comp pages explain the roles without a win rate. No public source found as of 2026-10-30 for paladin healing or damage samples.
Holy
Holy is the healing specialization, with Holy Shock and Beacon of Light. The queue tries to balance healers, but a premade’s own healers are its choice and are not a queue violation.
Retribution
Retribution is melee damage, with Templar’s Verdict and Divine Storm. The 0.18 note removes Avenging Wrath’s healing increase; the damage effect is not removed by that line.
These are single-source kit descriptions from the public client and its derived database, not ranked builds. For editorial role examples, see comp planning; for published changes, see patch notes.
