Patch 0.17 Friends

Friends, version 0.17, is dated 28 Oct 2026. The client gains a friend list, an online status, and party invites. That is the whole feature in the changelog: social tools, not a combat pass. The cap named alongside it is 50 friends.

A guest cannot be added until they use Save Progress. That rule sits next to the 0.11 guest work. If you only click Play as Guest and never save, other players have no durable name to invite. I explain the save form on the guest and account page.

I found no public note about blocking, muting beyond the later chat filter, or cross-realm friends. No public source found as of 2026-10-30 for a friends cap above or below 50, so 50 is the figure I will print and I will not round it. Party invites are how you walk into a 2v2 or 3v3 with people you chose, instead of the matchmaker. The healer-split notes explicitly preserve party choices: a premade’s own healers are not counted as overflow in 0.21.
